About Emily Düwel...
An artist-curator with a background in information design, visual culture, and communications, Düwel plans and develops multimedia projects and strategic campaigns, from conception through final implementation. To this end, she works to stimulate creative thinking among project participants and transform ideas into cohesive plans that create meaningful, exciting learning experiences and support institutional mission goals.
She brings to her work a multidisciplinary background that includes an MFA in Design & Technology from Parsons New School for Design, an MA in international studies from the CUNY Graduate Center, and a BA in liberal arts from Hamilton College, as well as studies in fine arts at the NY Studio School.
In addition to completing project work for organizations such as the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, her positions include managing communications for the City of Tucsons officially designated arts agency, serving as senior exhibits curator for Arizona State University, interpretive planning for Jane Clark Chermayeff & Associates, and grant-writing for the Museum of Modern Art.
